Why Celebrate Kindness week in Preschool?

Celebrating  a “kindness week” in preschool can help teach kids how important it is to be kind and caring to others. By doing activities and talking about kindness, kids can learn how their actions can help others and develop social and emotional skills that will help them for the rest of their lives. Focusing on kindness in the classroom can also make it a good place for all students to learn and grow.

“Kindness Week” is very important to be celebrated with kids in classrooms to promote and encourage acts of kindness among the children. This can be done by sharing, helping others, being a good friend, and showing empathy, among other things. Children can learn about kindness and how important it is through guest speakers, art projects, and group discussions at the event. Ways to Celebrate Kindness week in class

In a classroom setting, here are some suggestions for for how you can celebrate Kindness Week- Kindness activities and crafts for preschool along with some Free Printable :

  • Make a “kindness tree” by having children cut out paper leaves, having them write kind deeds or words on them, and finally affixing them to a bulletin board or paper  in the shape of a tree. You can download the free kindness tree template from below.

  • Kindness scavenger hunt: Make a list of kind acts for children to find and do, like assisting a friend pick up dropped toys or sharing a snack. Have the children search for the acts and then perform them.
  • Cards of kindness Instruct children to create cards with messages of kindness that they can give to friends, family members, or members of the community.
  • Jar of kindness: At the end of each week, have children put one marble in a jar to represent each act of kindness they performed. At the end of the week, tally up the marbles and have a party to celebrate the generosity shown.
  • Songs and stories about kindness Instruct the students to compose songs and stories about being kind to one another, and then have them share their work with the class.
  • You could either watch a video with the kids about kindness or read them a book about kind people who have made a difference.
  • Conduct a class discussion on the topic of kindness and how it affects people’s feelings.

Always keep in mind that the most crucial thing is to make it enjoyable and engaging for the kids, and to stress the significance of being kind in their day-to-day lives.
