Turkey In A Bag

Check out this mess-free turkey painting activity! This turkey art works well with a variety of November/Thanksgiving lessons and with preschool and early elementary students. This sensory art is created when students print and cut out a turkey template, add a few dabs of paint to it, and place it into a Ziplock bag. Once the turkey is in the bag, students will use their fingers to “paint” the turkey…MESS FREE! Once completed, this November craft can be removed from the bag to dry. Turkey Handprint Keepsake

Gobble Gobble! Looking for the perfect preschool or kindergarten Thanksgiving classroom activities? We have created a highly engaging, super low prep activity to promote fine motor and sensory art practices. Start by taping craft sticks together on one side. Next, paint your student’s hand to resemble a turkey and press down firmly onto the craft stick canvas. Once dry, add eyes, wattle, hat, wings, feet, or any other details your students would like. 


Now, have your students write their name – one letter per craft stick – on the craft stick canvas and trace it on a piece of construction paper. Once traced, students can remove the tape and glue the craft sticks down in the correct order onto the paper and write a fun Thanksgiving greeting at the top. Send this activity home as a wonderful keepsake for families. Don’t forget to add the year! 

Turkey Name Craft for Preschool & Kindergarten

The perfect arts and crafts activity for Thanksgiving is right here. Check out this engaging turkey name craft today and use it with your students as soon as tomorrow! This is an easy, low-prep craft that promotes letter and name recognition as well as creativity and design. 


So, grab some craft sticks, paint, markers, construction paper, glue, and a paper plate to get this activity started. First, students will need to grab some craft sticks (as many as there are letters in their name) and paint them a variety of colors (think turkey feathers). While these are drying, cut a small brown circle, a black hat, a yellow or orange beak, and a red wattle from construction paper. Color the back of a paper plate brown for the body of the bird. Once the paint is dry, use a marker to write your name on the craft sticks – one letter per stick. 

Now, it is time to put your Thanksgiving turkey craft together! Start by gluing your craft sticks to the paper plate. Then, glue the brown circle (head) over the top of the craft sticks. Add the hat, beak, eyes, and wattle to complete your turkey. Now you have an adorable Thanksgiving craft to share with families!

Mini Pumpkin Turkey Craft

When the end of October comes around and there are still so many mini pumpkins around your house, we have the perfect activity for you and your young learners! This Thanksgiving arts and crafts activity is a great transition activity from the month of October to November! 


Start by grabbing a mini pumpkin, toothpicks, and some Fruit Loops cereal… Yep! That’s all you need! Next, (the adult) sticks the toothpicks into the mini pumpkin to add “tail feathers” to the pumpkin turkey. Your students can then practice counting, patterns, and color sorting while adding the Fruit Loops to the tail feathers. Finally, cut a toothpick into three smaller parts to add to the pumpkin for eyes, beak, and wattle (the red part below the beak). Use items around the house to add these final design pieces; things like playdough, spice drops, marshmallows, etc… can be used for the eyes, beak, and wattle.

We made one of the cutest turkeys I ever saw to decorate for Thanksgiving because I love making handprint and footprint crafts with my kids because they always make me cry! Fork Painted Turkey Craft

Make this easy turkey by using a fork! This is a super simple thanksgiving art project that the kids can easily make by themselves. This Turkey activity is a super fun and easy fine motor art for Thanksgiving. To begin this turkey craft, pick out your colors( I used Red, orange and Yellow) you’ll be using for your turkey’s feathers. Dip the fork in different colors to make colorful Turkey feathers. Then set aside to dry.

Once completely dried up, add a brown head like shape out of a brown construction paper and glue it at the bottom of the paper for the turkey's head, a Pilgrim’s hat if your students choose, googly eyes, a beak, and a wattle. Now your turkey is complete. Your students will love creating this beautiful turkey for Thanksgiving!

This activity is a super fun and easy fine motor and hand eye coordination activity  for Thanksgiving. This like other in a bottle craft is perfect for younger kids and is almost mess free. Simple, Low-Prep Paper Plate Turkey Craft

This activity is a super fun and easy fine motor art for Thanksgiving. To begin this craft, gather a few supplies. These supplies include a paper plate, paint, clothespin, construction paper, googly eyes, and pom-poms. Once your supplies are gathered, clip a pom-pom onto the clothespin and dip it into a fall-colored paint. Now, start dabbing the paint onto the paper plate. Do this over and over with all the desired colors.



Once the plate is painted to your student’s liking, add a brown circle at the bottom of the plate for the turkey's head, a Pilgrim’s hat if your students choose, googly eyes, a beak, and a wattle. Now your turkey is complete. Your students will love creating this beautiful turkey for Thanksgiving!


Bubble Warp or Cling Wrap  Printed Turkey

Here’s a super easy and fun activity just in time for Thanksgiving! This playdough turkey activity is absolutely no prep, just some fine-motor fun!! All you need to get started is playdough, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes.


This craft activity is perfect for any preschool or early elementary classroom due to its fine motor practice opportunities. Students will create body and head shapes from playdough and then add on beaks and wattles. Finally, students can add googly eyes and pipe cleaner feathers to complete the craft. Firefighter Turkey (Turkey in Disguise)

You’ve probably of heard of the disguise a turkey activity that many students complete during the month of November. This is an adorable Thanksgiving craft for preschool, kindergarten, and homeschool students based on this engaging activity. 


Your students will enjoy disguising a turkey as a firefighter with this adorable craft. Start with a printed turkey template. Add a variety of fall leaves to the feathers of the turkey. These leaves represent the flames a firefighter encounters. Next, using construction paper, create a uniform, boots, an axe, and a water hose to add to the design. Complete the craft by gluing everything all the pieces to the turkey. The result will be an adorable, disguised turkey!

Pine cone Turkey Handprint Craft

This activity is a super fun and easy fine motor activity for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a beautiful time to take a stroll outside and find some pinecones, acorns, leaves etc. Use those things of nature to create a cute Turkey craft! I used a pine cone to create this sweet thanksgiving turkey craft!


Scrape Painting Turkey Art Project

Scrape painting is a super art process for color mixing! Students can create this super cool Turkey by using just red, yellow and orange paint and create some new range of colors in the process! Kids will enjoy scrapping the colors using a popsicle sticks t o create this amazing artwork for Thanksgiving. To recreate this scrape Turkey craft activity at home, all you need is paint, construction paper, Ziplock bag, googly eyes, red pom pom, popsicle stick and plain white cardstock paper paper!


First, students will need to grab a cardstock paper and cut out turkey feathers ( It can be a simple circle too!). Squirt paint of the edges of the feathers in any order. Put the cardstock in a ziplock bag carefully without smudging the paints. Now start the scarping process starting from top to bottom. Spread out the colors as much as can be to cover the white paper. Once done, carefully take the paper out of the ziplock bag and keep it to dry!

Apple Printed Turkey Craft

Apple painting is a super art project process for preschool and kindergarten students! Stamping of any sort is fun for little ones, so is thi sApple stamping Turkey art. Students will love to dip the apple slices in colors and create their own colorful turkey for thanksgiving. Adorable Thanksgiving Handprint Art Keepsakes for young learners. These are a great way to begin the month of November and the discussion of the Thanksgiving holiday. Students can make keepsake placemats just in time for the big meal or use them as a fun holiday decoration. Thankful Tree Writing Craft

This engaging Thanksgiving writing craft for kids can be used to celebrate Thanksgiving in your classroom. We have created an adorable turkey craft tree that comes in a special ink-saver version. To get started, print leaves on fall-colored paper and have students write different things they are thankful for. 


Before writing on the leaves, make sure to help students brainstorm a list of ideas of things they are thankful for. This would be a great opportunity to create an anchor chart to use and add to throughout the month. This craft promotes writing, creativity, and fine motor skills.
