Turkey Handprint Keepsake Name Puzzle

Gobble Gobble! Looking for the perfect preschool or kindergarten Thanksgiving classroom activities? We have created a highly engaging, super low prep activity to promote fine motor and sensory art practices. All you need is craft sticks (popsicle sticks), paint, markers, tape, and construction paper.

Start by taping craft sticks together on one side. Next, paint your student’s hand to resemble a turkey and press down firmly onto the craft stick canvas. Once dry, add eyes, wattle, hat, wings, feet, or any other details your students would like.

Now, have your students write their name – one letter per craft stick – on the craft stick canvas and trace it on a piece of construction paper. Once traced, students can remove the tape and glue the craft sticks down in the correct order onto the paper and write a fun Thanksgiving greeting at the top. Send this activity home as a wonderful keepsake for families. Don’t forget to add the year!
